As a kid, I loved the "Witch Mountain" series of movies made by Disney. My favorite moment in either movie is from the first when they go to the castle and have their own rooms with a soda fountain and carousel in it. I totally wanted to live in that room!

I have been a fan of "Star Trek" since the beginning of "Star Trek: The Next Generation". I watched all of those episodes and loved them. When I wasn't a fan of DS9 in the beginning, I stuck with it and was immensely rewarded by the latter seasons. In fact DS9 is my favorite "Star Trek" series of them all. I took two sick days on Monday and Tuesday to combat this monster cold that had sideswiped me. Today was the first day I went back to work, and I'm sleepy. In fact, I'm missing out on the Project Runway finale to rest. If I cared about any of the final three, I might have reconsidered, but I also didn't want to get anyone sick. Happy New Year!

I'm not going to lie, I'm not entirely sad to see 2007 go. Some really good things happened this past year, but it seemed like there was a lot of turmoil for my family in the latter half of the year. Here's hoping for a better 2008!

Work was uneventful today. The new hire, Brenda, seems to be normal which is a welcome change. I sat with her yesterday and trained her for about 2 hours, but it wasn't really enough time in my opinion. Still they had her working on her own today, and she didn't bad at all. This movie looks like they got it right -- or at least got the spirit of the book right. When Professor Umbridge says "That. Is. A. Lie." I get goosebumps. It's so good! July is going to be an exciting month!

Today was our office Christmas party. It was just a potluck within our department and a gift exchange, but it took awhile which was nice. I got a Charlie Brown Day-to-Day calendar and some chocolate turtles. Delish. The food was good, and it was an enjoyable day ( Read more... )
